Help us in celebrating

Gilchrist celebrates the Month of the Military Child in April by sending messages out to all parents, students, and staff to wear purple for "Purple Up" for the Military Child. We recognized each child that had an active-duty parent with a MCEC certificate.

During the month of April we are celebrating the Month of the Military Child here at Gilchrist. Students and staff are encouraged to wear purple each week, with April 10th being a purple out to celebrate military connected children.

  • Those connected individuals were invited to the LCCC event hosted this past week as well.
  • We have also had service members from F.E. Warren AFB attend events this year.
  • During Read Across America Week, service members came to Gilchrist and read to each class.
    • There was time set aside for students to ask questions to our service men and women as well.
  • Service members are also planning on attending field day at the end of the year to help out with games/ stations.
